Therapeutic Massage Therapy
Our bodies are constantly in motion and that is a very good thing…we are made to move and to move relatively pain free. Musculoskeletal disorders caused by postural problems, repetitive stress, trauma and disease can inhibit normal body movements and set up pain cycles that diminish quality of life. These disorders are one of the primary reasons that people seek medical attention. Therapeutic Massage Therapy can be of great benefit in treating many locomotor soft tissue disorders to reduce and eliminate pain and restore the body to optimum vitality and health. Therapeutic Massage achieves these successful outcomes through various techniques like Frictions, Myofascial Release, Swedish Techniques (to name only a few) to promote physiological effects. Fluid (blood and lymph) mechanics, neuromuscular effects, connective tissue effects and reflex effects are some of the physiological effects that can be influenced by Massage Therapy to help the body heal.
Registered Massage Therapists (RMT’s) are highly trained Health Care Professionals and know how to match the treatment to the injury/disorder for the best outcomes. We adhere to the principles of Evidence Based Practice as a means to provide sound validation for our methods so that we can provide the best possible care to our patients and further the body of knowledge of Therapeutic Massage Therapy.
